Customizing Dashboards

The icon located at the top right corner of the Dashboard view gives access to the facilities for customizing Dashboards.

Users with the user right Customize Dashboards and Lists allowed to create and maintain private dashboards (on either site or circle level). Users with the user right Share Dashboards and Lists can also create and maintain public dashboards that other users can use, as well as private dashboards for personal use only.

The snippet below shows the view a user with sharing right can see, when customizing Dashboards in the Circle.

Creating Dashboards

There are two ways to create a Dashboard regardless of the category it falls under:

  • From the New Dashboard button – this will create a basic Dashboard with a Title and a description only. Pages and its content can then be added to the created Dashboard.
  • As a copy of an existing Dashboard – Dashboards listed in any of the sections can be copied and used as a basis for creating a new Dashboard. Which means that the pages are also copied along.  Copying a Dashboard will load a Modal window from where the category (public/private) can be selected from a dropdown.
NB: Private Dashboards cannot be copied to use as a basis for creating a public Dashboard. Similarly, Dashboards that are limited to a Circle cannot be copied to be used a basis for creating Dashboards for the entire Site.

My Private – This circle only

Dashboards created in this category will only be available for the current user within the current Circle.

My Private – Entire site

Dashboards created in this category will be available for the current user within the entire Site.

Public Dashboards

When a public dashboard is created, it will first end up in into a draft. This draft can then be customized by either editing its title or description or by customizing its pages and the content thereof.  After the Dashboard is considered done and ready, it can be published. All these actions are possible from the dropdown menu on the Dashboard:

NB: The changes made to a draft public Dashboard are not published automatically and require the user to manually publish the changes. The same also goes for published Dashboards, where editing will save the changes in a draft until it is republished.
Dashboards can be public for users in the entire Site or only those in the Circle to access; Public – Entire site and Public – This circle only respectively.

Dashboard Pages

Dashboards in Agemba comprise of one or more pages that can be created from the Dashboards dropdown menu.
Alternatively, existing Dashboard pages can be copied and used as a basis for creating a new page. Copying a Dashboard page will open a window from where the Dashboard to copy to can be selected from a dropdown menu. Once created, the Dashboard page will be listed under the Dashboard.
NB: Private Dashboard pages cannot be copied to use as a basis for creating public Dashboard pages. Similarly, Dashboard pages that are limited to a Circle cannot be copied to be used a basis for creating Dashboard pages for the entire Site.

Dashboard Page Contents

The content of a Dashboard Page, which consists of one or more Dashlets can be tailored to suit the preferences of the user. Every page has a dropdown menu providing an option for doing this. See the snippet.

New Dashlets can be created and existing ones rearranged, reconfigured or deleted etc.  Columns can be used to partition the view.
Configuration of Dashlets can done using the settings/gear icon located on the top right corner of the Dashlet. See the snippet.
The configuration of dashlets differs depending on the type of dashlet. More specifically, for dashlets that show lists, additional lists can be created in the List view and included.

Editing Dashboards and Pages

Existing Dashboards and pages can be edited i.e. the title and description from the dropdown next to the specific Dashboard or page.
